A
versatile singer with extensive theatre experience and
linguistic skills, Zoë is equally at home with the standard
repertoire as with
contemporary works, both on stage and the concert platform. As well as
graduating with Distinction in the Professional Performance Diploma
from the
RNCM, Zoë has a degree in Italian and German from Oxford University.
She also trained in various forms of dance, including ballet, jazz, tap
and
flamenco.
Zoë’s concert and
oratorio experience includes the Verdi Requiem,
Mendelssohn’s Elijah, the Mozart Requiem,
Bach’s Magnificat, St Matthew Passion and
St John Passion, the Messiah
by Handel, Vivaldi’s Gloria,
Rossini’s Stabat Mater, Dvorak’s Requiem,
Beethoven’s Mass in C and Choral
Fantasia
and Berio’s Folksongs.
In 2003 she played Carmen
for Garden Opera and L’Innocente in Cilea’s L’Arlesiana for Opera Holland
Park. Other
roles include Rosina in Rossini’s Barber
of Seville, Popova in Walton’s The Bear
for Guildford Opera, Anita in West Side
Story for Pimlico Opera and Ascanio in Berlioz’ Benvenuto Cellini for UCOpera. She has
also played Clori in Handel’s Clori,
Tirsi & Fileno in the Covent
Garden Festival and Mercedes in Carmen.

2004 she created
the role of Florian in the new opera Clockwork with
performances in the
Linbury Studio at the Royal Opera House. She also played Cherubino
in Le Nozze di
Figaro for Opera Holland Park,
Zerlina in Don Giovanni for Garden Opera, and took
the role of the Writer in the groundbreaking art/opera
collaboration, Liebeslied/My Suicides
at the Institute of Contemporary Art in London. She is involved in the
Genesis
Project’s productions of new operas in association with the Almeida.
