Noted especially as a Bach Evangelist and an interpreter of the music of Benjamin Britten, Richard Edgar-Wilson has worked with Charles Mackerras, Neville Marriner, Jeffrey Tate, Mark Minkowski, Roger Norrington, Trevor Pinnock, Philippe Herreweghe and Richard Hickox, and in recital with Graham Johnson, Roger Vignoles and Malcolm Martineau.
On the opera stage he has sung all the major Mozart tenor roles and he has created parts in thirteen world premiers. He appeared as Radames in the Norwegian feature-film Suffløsen, and recordings include Die Schöne Müllerin, On Wenlock Edge, San Giovanni Battista with Les Musiciens du Louvre, Dioclesian, Artaxerxes, Boyce Odes, Coates Songs and Messiah.
