The English String Quartet surrounded by some of their friends

News

The next Festival will run from 23rd September to 18th October 2008, for detail see the 2008 Programme.

About the Festival

The London Festival of Chamber Music, founded in 1995 by Luciano Iorio, violist of the English String Quartet, aims to make chamber music more accessible, with performances of the highest standard at venues near where people live, stimulating programmes, informative and friendly presentation and affordable tickets. Free tickets are offered to local primary and secondary schools.

Every year the four weeks long Festival gives sixteen concerts in four venues, with four programmes performed in each venue. The performers are among the finest musicians in London: the members of the internationally renowned English String Quartet are ‘artists in residence’, and they are joined by other eminent musicians according to the requirements of the programmes.

The Festival also gives a free educational programme to primary schools, aiming at inspiring school children and nurturing tomorrow's audience.
